Drabble: The Library Vandal

Title: The Library Vandal

Author: badly_knitted

Characters: Ianto

Rating: G

Written For: Challenge 309 – The Library at tw100

Spoilers: Nada.

Summary: Torchwood business takes Ianto to the local library.

Disclaimer: I don’t own Torchwood, or the characters.

Libraries always reminded Ianto of his childhood. They’d been his refuge on wet afternoons, losing himself in tales of wonder and imagination to escape the drabness of council estate life.

He wasn’t about to have his happy memories wrecked by the Rift’s contrariness.

Stun gun in one hand, Weevil spray in the other, he stalked towards the ‘vandal’ the librarian had reported.

Hissing at him, the Weevil swept books off a nearby shelf and bared its teeth.

One book came to rest at Ianto’s feet and he glanced down.

Frankenstein. How appropriate.

Apparently, the Rift had a sense of humour.

The End

Hee! Could have been worse, could have been Weevil Training for Dummies!
*giggles* I bet that book exists in an alternate universe!

Thank you!
Would've been more worrisome if it'd been Silence of the Lambs! LOL
True! Ianto can handle a Weevil though.

Thank you.
hahahaha that was a nice choice of reading!
lovely!
*grins* It seemed appropriate.

Thank you!
Too bad it wasn't "Jaws".

LOL!
*snort* Don't give the Weevil ideas!

Thank you!
Ianto, Frankenstein and the Weevil! You outdo yourself!
And I got chips on my screen :D :D
Nice! I liked it well done! I keep wanting to write a sequel to mine but irl is getting in the way and being a pain I the butt! But I liked this hehehe!!!

:D

Thank you for writing it
Thank you!

You still have a few days if rl will cooperate, new prompts seldom go up before Tuesday.
Well I wasn't sure the rules were where you could post more than one there lol! Good to know and sure I just need to sit down and write it out. If my kids would let me just think it out. Being a parent is good but busy at times. But I love my kids more than anything and I'm a single mom so it kind of gets a bit you know overwhelming but worth it.

My son he is almost 19 now scary!!!! My daughter is 12 almost 13 and Autistic so we have our good and bad days. I myself has Asperger syndrome. So even if I don't get it done by the deadline etc.. I'll still do it eventually.

Thank you :)

I opted not to have kids, I'm not a maternal person and with my health problems it wouldn't have been fair to place the burden of raising them on someone else. I applaud you for raising your two alone, it must have been tough especially with your daughter's autism, but sounds like you're doing a great job!

Yeah, you can post as many as you want for each prompt - I think my record for a single prompt is 8 - but the cut-off for posting is when the new prompt goes up so it can be a bit of a struggle to get multiple drabbles posted in time, lol! Of course, if the new prompt gets put up late, you can just keep writing and posting for the current one until the new one appears, lol! Good luck!
Ooops! *hands cleaning cloth*

Doctor Weevilstein, heehee!

Thank you!
LOL very appropriate I'D say.

Great drabble.
Thank you! Well, where else would the Rift drop a Weevil than the Horror section? LOL!

Lol. loved the ending.
Thank you! I like the thought of the Rift filing the Weevil in the horror section, lol!
Naughty weevil.
I think it was just upset by the Rift dropping it in the middle of the library, it didn't really mean any harm but weevils don'r understand the importance of books. ;)

Thank you.
Go get 'em, Ianto!

And maybe enjoy a little Gothic horror reading when the work is done!
Maybe the Weevil would appreciate being read to, lol!

Thank you.
Well, who wouldn't want Ianto to read to them? That voice... He could read the phonebook and I'd happily listen for hours. :D
His voice could certainly calm a savage weevil, I'm sure. Though it has rather the opposite effect on Jack ;)
Poor Ianto
Ianto can handle one Weevil, he's more worried about the state of the library!

Thank you!
