Elementary Ficlet: Taking Liberties

Title: Taking Liberties
Fandom: Elementary
Author: badly_knitted
Characters: Sherlock Holmes, Joan Watson.
Rating: G
Spoilers: Nada.
Summary: Sherlock investigates everything; Joan has given up getting annoyed by it.
Word Count: 112
Written For: possibilityleft’s prompt ‘Elementary, Joan Watson, second date,at fic_promptly.
Disclaimer: I don’t own Elementary, or the characters. They belong to their creators.
A/N: Written for a three-sentence prompt, which is why it’s so short, but I’ve since altered the punctuation so now it’s five sentences instead.

“I took the liberty of checking your phone messages for you; he wants to see you again, which means he’s either a lot braver than I gave him credit for, or far more deluded. I haven’t decided yet.”

Joan has long since given up any notion of privacy or personal space around Sherlock. He’s not wired that way; it’s his nature to investigate anything and everything, even when such interference is more akin to prying, so she shrugs it off and doesn’t bother replying, but…

A second date; she’s not sure she remembers the last time someone was interested enough in her to endure Sherlock honing his interrogation techniques a second time.

The End

Sherlock doesn't understand the meaning of boundaries I guess.

Joan: "Why does Clyde have tape on his back?"

Sherlock: "It's a cross. He's an ambulance."
*laughs* He seriously doesn't, but I think Joan can't help liking him despite that.

There's such fun dialogue in Elementary.

Thank you!

Or how Sherlock uses Clyde as a way to wake up Joan in the morning.

Sherlock Holmes: I left some urine in your room.

Joan Watson: Tell me it's in a cup.

I watched it mainly for the dialogue between those two.:)

I've only seen the first two series so far. Series three is showing now, but it clashes with the second season of Lethal Weapon and I had to choose... GAH! I like both, but Lethal Weapon won.

I lost track after series 3. Saw some of series four but got lost since I didn't see it from the start. Foxtel keeps repeating the first two.

Lucky I didn't give away any spoilers for you.:)
With my memory, I'd forget them long before I got to see the episodes, lol!
I guess that could work in your favour.:D

I can enjoy a repeat of a program because I forget some parts of it too, like a funny line.:)

I'm currently watching a whole bunch of shows I've seen several times before, and still enjoying them just as much, for the dialogue, the acting, the story... There's so much to enjoy when a show is that good.

Great escapism.:)
It really is. Sadly, some of the things I'd like to re-watch I can't find on DVD =(

That's too bad that you can't find a supplier. I guess some things are online.
I can't afford much anyway, but a lot of things weren't released on DVD, or not in the UK. I tried to watch an episode of Midnight Caller on youtube, but I could barely hear it even with my laptop volume of full. =(
