Author: badly_knitted

Characters: Jack, Ianto

Rating: PG-13

Written For: Challenge 288, Week 4 – Reverse fandom – Last of the Summer Wine at tw100

Summary: Jack and Ianto’s romantic weekend away turns into a bit of a washout.

Disclaimer: I don’t own Torchwood, or the characters.

A/N: Title used was In Which Romance Springs A Leak

Ianto should have known a romantic weekend away with Jack at a hotel famous for their waterbeds was a recipe for disaster.

The first night was heaven. So was much of the first day, actually. Ianto found himself twisted into positions he never would have imagined possible, perfectly supported by the water filled mattress and was so inspired, he tested Jack’s flexibility to its limits too.

Everything was going swimmingly; a poor choice of words, in retrospect.

Jack’s ever-present Vortex Manipulator must have caught on the mattress, because suddenly they were sinking as water fountained over them.

Ianto groaned. “Fuck!”

The End

*snicker* what away to end the evening. I'm sure jack learned to take it off when they are having fun.

I haven't even looked at this weeks prompts yet, putting the finishing touches on another story.
Thank you!

Yes, I think Jack has learned his lesson. The hotel management weren't too pleased though!

There are some good prompts again, I've really enjoyed the wide variety of titles we've had to play with this month. It hasn't left much time for doing anything else though, I've spent most of my time writing and posting drabbles. I need to get on with writing some longer one-shots when this challenge is over. I'm such a slow writer with anything other than drabbles.
I just managed to do one. Spent most of the last few days finishing up an 11k story which I sent off to editing today so it feels like a big weight has been lifted off me.

Yah for longer stories,
Of course, in my case, longer stories means bigger than a drabble! They're still short stories, but hopefully more than 1000 words! At least, that's the plan, when I can motivate myself to write them...

I'll be reading your drabble in a bit - after I get mine posted for today. Looking forwrad to your long fic!
Whoops! *gigglesnort*
Yep! They hadn't planned on swimming... It put a bit of a dampener on proceedings.

Thank you!
LOL As soon as I heard "water bed" I knew this was going to happen! That's the exact reason why I will never sleep in one - besides, I think I would actually get sea sick °.°"
Yeah, I wouldn't want to try it either, especially given the way I toss and turn at night, lol!

It was inevitable that they'd be taking an unschedualed swim. i knew that the moment I spotted the title used as a prompt for this one. Sometimes I just know right away what I want to write.

Thank you!
I'm sure they made very good use of the bed :-)
They did, right up until it sprung a leak! They hadn't been planning on going swimming!

Thank you!
and how will Jack convince Ianto on going to another weekend away?
hahahaha funny (for us, at least)
Next time, Ianto will do all the booking!

Or maybe he'll just order Jack to take off his Vortex Manipulator first - he was really enjoyong the water bed until they wound up swimming in it!

Thank you!
ROFL! Well, that's sure going to put a "damper" on the festivities. Will Torchwood be picking up the bill for the waterbed and the clean up? :-p

I doubt it. I'm fully expecting Jack to complain to the hotel manager about their bed suddenly springing a leak and nearly drowning them! Ianto is already rolling his eyes in anticipation.

Thank you.
Oh dear - that was one wet and wild weekend...just not in a good way.
It was fine at the start when it was wild, it was the wet that caused the problems. No one really expects their bed to almost drown them, after all. Jack will be having words with the manager about that, no doubt!

Thank you!
Hahaha should have taken the Vortex Manipulator off Jack.

Great drabble.
Now you tell him!

True though. Ianto's kicking himself for not saying anything. It's easy to be wise in hindsight.

Thank you!
