A/N: This one’s a double drabble.
Being a parent took a lot of adjustments. Ryo was now responsible for the life of this small, tough but vulnerable human being. It was scary and bewildering, he and Bikky had a lot to learn about each other, and there had to be ground rules, but there also needed to be give and take.
Ryo had always been house proud, liking to keep everything neat, but children were messy. As much as Bikky tried to please Ryo, perhaps feeling that if he didn’t the man who had given him a new home might change his mind, he didn’t always succeed.
It was no good getting mad at the boy over little things like broken crockery, or clothes and toys left lying around. Yelling would only make them both stressed, so most of the time Ryo tried to remain calm and talk to Bikky about behaving responsibly. Most of the time it worked, although sometimes it was only a temporary fix. Kids tended to be forgetful; they had so many things vying for their attention.
But some things were worth getting cross over, like Bikky breaking the law or putting himself in danger. Then yelling was a perfectly reasonable response.
