Last one for the challenge!

Their first date hadn’t exactly gone to plan.

Jack had booked a table at a lovely restaurant, then they’d been late because he’d gone the wrong way down a one-way street and been stopped by the police.

Then Jack knocked the candle over and set fire to their table, making things worse when he tried to put it out with the brandy he’d grabbed from a passing waiter.

As they walked back to the car, Jack mumbled, “I wanted it to be romantic.”

Ianto stared at him, then burst out laughing.

“Romantic? No. Unforgettable? Definitely. It’s the thought that counts!”

The End

Awww! I like Ianto's attitude. He's just happy to be with Jack. If he wanted romance, I'm sure he wouldn't have stuck around as long as he did waiting for that date! :)
Poor Jack. He tried so hard, but he was so nervous he kept making a mess of things, lol! Ianto is very forgiving and understanding though, and the rest of the evening went perfectly. The bedroom is where Jack excels, after all!
Ianto is always so prtactical and straight-forward!
Who can feel bad after that?
Jack's just relieved that Ianto's not mad at him. He was so nervous about the date, and everything was going wrong, he was worried Ianto would say he didn't want to date Jack anymore.

Thank you!
Yup that sounds about right for them. Lol. Takeaway and beer sounds like a good night for them.
It'll probably be safer, though Jack might spring for a bottle of wine with their takeaway. Perhaps he won't be so nervous for their next date and things will go better. First dates are always the scariest!

Thank you.
Poor Jack! Hell is paved with good intentions. ;)
I'd have like to see it in the real show. It's great. I love it. You made my day.Thanks.
Thank you!

I figured he was so nervous asking Ianto out on a date in the first place, he would probably still be nervous on the date itself so he kept being clumsy and making a mess of things. Ianto didn't mind though, he was nervous too and in the end it was just so terrible it was funny. They had a good time afterwards, I'm sure.
Yep Unforgettable LOL great drabble.
Poor Jack, He tried so hard, but he was so nervous he kept messing up!

Thank you!
Aw, Ianto! *hearts* I know you belong to Jack, and I don't really seriously want a boyfriend, but IF I did, I would to catch myself someone as understanding as you! :)
They were both really nervous about the date, I think, but Ianto feels better because he can see how hard Jack was trying, even if everything was going wrong and at least it was an unforgettable first date, just for all the wrong reasons. Anyway, he was just happy to be on a date with Jack and they both survived it so they'll be fine.

Thank you.
Nothing is going to top that date! lol
They'll remember it for the rest of their lives, which, if I have my way, will be a very long time indeed!

Thank you!
Awww, *hugs Jack* He tried....
He really did. I might write an extended version of this one...

Thank you.
