A/N: This one’s a double drabble.
“Don’t you have enough cookbooks already?” Dee asked, catching Ryo browsing the cookery section of the bookshop where they’d been questioning the owner about a brutal assault that had occurred across the street late the previous night. Normally Dee was the one who got distracted when they were supposed to be working, but he’d been almost out the door before realising Ryo wasn’t following.
“You can never have too many cookbooks,” Ryo insisted, not looking up from the book he was browsing through. “You don’t complain when you invite yourself over for dinner.”
That was true; Ryo was a great cook and Dee far preferred the home-cooked meals his partner provided to the microwave ready meals in his freezer. “Course not; what’s to complain about? You’re like a master chef or something.”
“And most of what I cook is from recipes in my cookbooks. I haven’t seen this one before though.” Book in hand, Ryo returned to the counter and paid for it before following Dee out of the shop.
“So do I get an invite when you try out your new book?” Dee asked cheekily as they got back into their car.
“Maybe. If you play your cards right.”
