Arriving at the Hub later than usual, Tosh hurried to her workstation and turned her computers on. A few feet away at his own desk, Owen glanced up. “What happened, you oversleep?” he asked, then… “Did you do something to your hair? It looks really nice.”

Tosh had indeed just got her hair cut and styled; it had been getting too long, which could be a nuisance when you worked for Torchwood, and anyway the alien gunk that had got into it the previous evening had set solid, welding the ends on one side into a solid clump that wouldn’t wash out. Her only option had been to cut off the affected section, and she’d decided getting it done professionally was probably a better idea than trying to do it herself. She just hadn’t expected Owen of all people to notice.

“What do you want, Owen?” she sighed.

“Nothing!”

“Really? Usually you only compliment me when you need something.”

“I guess I do.” Owen smiled sheepishly. “There is one little thing you could do for me…”

‘Here it comes,’ thought Tosh. “What’s that?”

“Have dinner with me tonight?”

He sounded serious.

“That would be lovely.”

Owen grinned. “It’s a date.”

The End

It really does seen idiotic that imports are cheaper than home-made or grown.

So many times, something has been improved so much I can no longer eat it =(
I believe every worker should be paid fairly and equally. I don't understand why this isn't the case. It sounds like corruption to me.

I understand the disappointment you must feel. I've been there too.:(

Yes, but employers always seem to find loopholes that allow them to pay there workers less, and business always buy products as cheaply as they can. =(
I hate corruption. Like anyone else who believes in morals. There needs to be some serious monitoring of shady stuff like ripping off workers.

I know it can also happen the other way around where people steal from work. I don't get how someone thinks that way either!

I don't think profting off someone elses good intentions is really benefiting in the long run. Karma is bound to catch up with them. That's usually how it stops.
The trouble is that greed is rife everywhere you look. Everyone wants something for nothing, they just don't think of how they're doing other people out of the basic necessities. The rich get richer, the poor get poorer. You're right, there should be better monitoring to prevent people getting ripped off. =(
If they was no such thing as greed, it could happen. Humans are selfish to a certain degree. It's a fact. Being one hundred percent selfless is rare.

I'm trying to give more to charity than I did before. I need to work again so I can support others more than myself.

I give what I can when I can, because there are always people worse off. I do what I can to help. The richest people are the greediest though. Those with the least give the most to help others.
Usually its the lower income society that gives more than the rich because of knowing how to relate to the situation.

Some rich people can't empathize. There are those who complain about taxes. Saying they earned they're money so why should they give a part of it away who didn't work for it. They don't see the whole picture.
Rich people live in a world of privilege. Take their money away and they'd be in for a huge shock. Those of us who don't have a lot help others whenever we can because we know someday we might be the ones needing a little extra help.
I bet most rich people don't know about buyer's remorse because of all that disposable money.

The closet I've seen rich or privileged people freak out over no money is when they're challenged as part of some reality TV show.

Yeah, and I bet they still don't learn from the experience =(
I know! It's like, what's the point if they don't learn from it. I know I try to when life gives me a crappy situation.
The rich and privileged often don't see the need to learn from experience. They think the rules don't apply to them.
There must be some truth to that saying that "money can't buy you happiness". Rich people can still find something to complain about.:(
Yeah, rich people are seldom satisfied with what they've got. They want more.
