Tosh - I Rule

Drabble: Brave

Title: Brave

Author: badly_knitted

Characters: Tommy, mentions Tosh

Rating: G

Written For: Challenge 292 – The Billboard Hot 100 at tw100

Spoilers: To The Last Man

Summary: Tommy doesn’t feel brave.

Disclaimer: I don’t own Torchwood, or the characters.

A/N: Song title = drabble title. It’s just easier that way.

Tommy was scared.

He didn’t want to go back to 1918, knew he’d be sent back to the front and he couldn’t do that again.

Tosh said they were counting on him, that only he could save the world and all of time, save everyone.

She called him her brave, handsome hero, but he didn’t feel brave, didn’t want to be a hero. He just wanted to stay here, in the future, with her. Why did it have to be him?

But if it wasn’t him, he wouldn’t be here now, would never have met the beautiful Toshiko.

“Take me.”

The End

Absolutely heartbreaking *sniff* I love it.
Thank you *hands tissues*

It was a sad episode. Poor Tommy, rescued for a short while only to be sent back to a very uncertain fate.
*sniffles*
Sorry! *hugs and hands tissues*

Thank you.

so heartbreaking but real ...
Thank you *hugs*

Very sad, but Tommy showed true courage
*Wibbles*
My heart breaks for Tommy and Tosh.
Thank you *hugs*

Mine too. They were doomed, but they lit up each other's kives for a few brief days.
This was sad and beautiful.
Thank you.

Tommy's situation has always saddened me. So many young men were executed for cowardice when they were suffering from psychological trauma. It's unlikely that Tommy would have escaped that fate, even though he had the courage to save the world.
Poor Tommy. War is such a waste of human potential.
It is. Tommy was a hero who saved all of time, yet in all probability he would have been executed as a coward when he returned to 1918, as so many young men were simply because they had been traumatized by their experiences. It's a wonder than anyone comes out of war sane.

Thank you.
*reaches for tissues*
*passes box of tissues* Sorry.

Thank you.
