“What would you do?” Dee asks as he and Ryo leave the cinema. “I mean, if you had one of those monkey paws and three wishes.”


Ryo shudders. “I’d burn it. Wishing on something like that is a bad idea; there’s always some sort of horrible price.”


“Maybe not if you’re really careful about how you phrase your wish. I mean, just wishin’ for a certain amount of money is stupid; you’d have to wish that you won that amount with the next lottery ticket you bought, somethin’ like that.”


“There’d still be a catch. Wishes aren’t worth the risk.”
