Summary: Dee has had a miserable day at work, but coming home makes up for it.

A/N: Double drabble.




Tired, cold, hungry, and damp from the freezing rain that had been falling for most of the day, Dee dug his keys out of his pants pocket and let himself into his apartment. Despite the darkness outside, he was met with light, warmth, and delicious cooking aromas wafting from the kitchen.


He was also met by the pattering of small paws scurrying across the rugs and scratched floorboards towards him, a wagging tail, and a happy woof as a small brown dog arrived at his feet.


“Hey, you. Bet you’re glad you got to stay home today; it’s miserable out.” Dee bent down to pat the dog then hung up his coat and took his boots off. By the time he’d put them on the rack in the small closet and turned around, Ryo was behind him, greeting him with a quick kiss, and a warm towel for his hair.


“Why don’t you go and change into something dry? Dinner will be ready in about twenty minutes,” he said.


All the stresses of the day just seemed to melt away and Dee found himself smiling. Nothing said ‘welcome home’ better than his lover, their dog, and a home cooked meal.
