Ianto had always taken pride in his work, carrying out all his tasks to the best of his abilities and was seldom satisfied, always seeking to do better, be more efficient. One thing he’d learned growing up was that if something was worth doing, it was worth doing well; it was a rule he still lived by.
In his opinion, too many people these days left jobs half-done, or did shoddy work, expecting to get paid for doing as little as possible. Standards had gone right down because people cared more about the money they earned than the job they were doing. Well, that wasn’t him, and it never would be.
So what if nobody else ever got to see his meticulously organised archives? What did it matter if no one else appreciated his carefully thought out and implemented cataloguing system? He didn’t even care when the team failed to notice he’d cleaned the Hub and their workstations ready for them to turn the place into a pigsty again. HE knew he’d done a good job, and that was what mattered.
But when people failed to properly appreciate his coffee, swigging it down like water, that was another matter entirely!
