A/N: Double drabble.
The summer storm caught them out in the open, sudden and unexpected, heavy rain hammering the dry, dusty ground, quickly drenching everything and running in rivers along the footpaths.
Dee and Ryo had draped their jackets over their heads and run for whatever shelter they could find. Now, although they’re wetter than they’d like they’re at least out of the stinging rain and gusting wind.
It’s kinda nice here; thanks to the angle of the ground and the direction of the wind, where they’re sitting is still perfectly dry. They can look out either side at the rain as if they’re tucked away behind a waterfall, and they can watch the lightning streaking across a sky so dark it might be dusk already.
Thunder rumbles and booms overhead, echoing hollowly as they lean their backs against the rough stonework of the bridge that’s their refuge from the British weather; it’s not the kind of place they would have picked for their picnic, but right now Ryo can’t think of anywhere better as they share out sandwiches and bottles of cola.
He bets no one else is enjoying a packed lunch under a small bridge in the middle of a storm!
