Doctor Who Drabble: Weird

Title: Weird
Author: badly_knitted
Characters: Eleventh Doctor.
Rating: G
Written For: Challenge 406: Storey at dw100.
Spoilers: The Lodger.
Summary: The Doctor can never resist investigating anything weird.
Disclaimer: I don’t own Doctor Who, or the characters.

Something’s weird, but the Doctor’s well used to that. A lot of things are weird, which is why he’s always around, travelling through time and space to fix things that shouldn’t be the way they are.

This particular weirdness is especially interesting, a perfectly ordinary building, two storeys tall, in a row of other perfectly ordinary buildings. It’s been divided into two flats, one up, one down, with a small entrance hallway and a flight of stairs leading to the flat on the upper floor. That’s where the sense of wrongness is coming from.

There shouldn’t be a second floor.

The End

Eleventh Doctor: The people upstairs are very noisy.
Guido: There aren't any people upstairs.
Eleventh Doctor: Do you know, I knew you were going to say that. Did anyone else know he was going to say that?

Amy's house had a third floor and I don't know why.*confused by Moffat's use of stairs*

The stairs are there to make you stare, because they shouldn't be there, and they go nowhere.
Wow. That rhymes too.:)

Like an escalator to nowhere.*Simpsons reference*
I hadn't noticed that about Amy's house, but it isn't unusual. A lot of older houses have three floors. I know one one my aunts (Well, several of them because they lived together) had three floors. I think originally the top floor would have been servants' quarters.

I just thought she had other family members who lived there that disappeared because of the crack. But that was before the series 5 finale.

Your explanation makes perfect sense. It was just left to interpretation...

Thee are a lot of mysteries and loose ends left hanging in Doctor Who.

Everyone is free to interpret things their own way.

*makes eerie mystery sound that you can't hear, since we are online*

Yeah. Then we can use our own imagination.*thinks of fanfics*

It's out duty as fanfic writers to fill in gaps and tie up loose ends. Also to fix the mistakes the writers make.
Can we fix it?

Yes, we can!

*Bob the Builder Theme Song*

*grins* Should be the fanfic writer's theme song!
Most definitely! :D
