“It’s a good thing you’ve inherited some of Jack’s healing powers,” Ianto told Coat as he examined the large bloodstained rent in the garment’s back where the sleeper agent’s spear hand had punched right through his lover’s body and out between his shoulder blades. “If you weren’t, by now there probably wouldn’t be enough of you left to repair.”
‘Immortality does have its good points,’ Coat silently agreed. ‘Although I do heal much faster with your assistance than I could on my own.’
Ianto’s careful stitching of all the holes and tears Coat suffered in the course of its duties meant its wounds were held firmly closed while the fibres knitted themselves back together, as if they’d never been damaged in the first place.
“I sometimes wonder how Jack managed before I came along,” Ianto mused. “Did he mend you himself?”
‘He tried. He can sew my buttons back on but apart from that his stitching left a lot to be desired. He darned me like a sock. It was a bit insulting, but better than nothing I suppose.’
Patiently Ianto rinsed the bloodstains out of the wool and Coat relaxed. Nothing beat a soothing massage after a hard day.
