“Look on the bright side!” Dee’s voice was muffled by the bedcovers.
“It’s snowing, power’s out, and we have no heat. Where’s the bright side in any of that?” As far as Ryo could see, there wasn’t one.
“Every cloud has a silver linin’, babe; you just have to know how to find it.”
Huddling deeper beneath the covers, Ryo peered at his lover in the gloom. “Enlighten me.”
“We’re not at work today.”
“You call that a bright side? At work there’s probably heat, and power, the ability to boil water for a drink, or heat soup, take a shower with hot water. All we’ve got are cold food, cold drinks, cold water…” Ryo trailed off miserably.
“Warm bed, lots of cosy covers, shared body heat, no reason to get up if we don’t want to,” Dee pointed out.
“So your idea of a silver lining is getting to stay in bed and sleep all day?” All Ryo could think about was the laundry and ironing he couldn’t do because of the power outage, and the possibility of pipes freezing.
“Who said anything about sleepin’?” A warm body pressed up against Ryo. “I guarantee I can keep ya warm.”
