It was raining, which wasn’t unusual; the Welsh climate was such that it rained more often than not. Still, that didn’t explain Ianto coming down from the tourist office soaking wet. If he’d intended to go out in the heavy downpour, he would have worn his overcoat and taken his umbrella.
Unsurprisingly, as he dripped his way up to Jack’s office he didn’t look at all happy. Jack couldn’t blame him; it looked as though his suit was completely soaked through, and since it was January he was no doubt freezing cold as well as wet, which made Jack wonder why his lover hadn’t made straight for the locker room to shower and change into dry clothes.
“Ianto? You’re looking a bit… damp. Shouldn’t you do something about that?”
“Remember that leak in the Tourist Office ceiling I told you about? The one you assured me wouldn’t cause any more trouble because you’d patched the hole yourself?”
Jack nodded. “One of the easiest repair jobs I’ve ever done; I didn’t even need to call anyone.”
“Yes, well, apparently the water didn’t like having its access restricted so it found another way in. Now the entire ceiling’s leaking like a sieve.”
