These days, laundry got done whenever Ianto and Jack had time to bung a load in the machine, hoping there’d be someone available to get it out and into the drier before is started to smell horrible.
Life at Torchwood was more hectic than ever at present, what with training new recruits and caring for several new alien creatures. It didn’t help that the Rift was currently in an overactive phase.
Although he was tired from a long day, Ianto gathered dirty clothes, knowing if he didn’t he and Jack would soon run out of things to wear. Jack might not mind streaking around the streets of Cardiff now the weather was getting milder, but Ianto preferred not to have his assets on display.
Shoving the last of the items in, along with detergent, fabric softener, and stain remover, he shut the door, turned the machine on, and flopped into a chair with a soothing cup of tea. Last thing he needed tonight was coffee keeping him awake.
He sat there watching the laundry spin gently around as the washing machine did its work. It was oddly relaxing and he nodded off, dreaming of spinning around the dancefloor with Jack.
