A/N: Double drabble.
Of all the things Jack might have stumbled upon while searching for some of his old belongings in a seldom-visited storeroom, this was among the worst. As soon as he uncovered the nest, he fled, slamming the door behind him and racing for the sanctuary afforded by his office.
Seeing his lover zoom past like a bat out of Hell, Ianto changed direction in mid-stride, abandoning his intention of making coffee in favour of finding out what was up with Torchwood’s fearless leader.
“Jack?”
Sitting in his desk chair, heels on the edge of the seat and knees up under his chin, Jack turned wide, horrified eyes on Ianto.
“Get rid of them, Ianto! Please! I can’t go back down there until I know they’re gone!”
“Until what are gone?”
Jack didn’t seem to hear the question.
“I only went down to the storeroom on level four to get a hat for Gwen to wear for Ladies Day at Ascot, Rhys promised he’d take her this year, but I was moving some boxes and there they were!”
“Hats?”
“Spider mice! There’s a whole nest of them, all webby and horrible!”
Ianto sighed; the team would have to wait for coffee.
