“No!” Owen said firmly, tapping Dizzy lightly on the snout. “You don’t take things without asking. That’s stealing and good Flufflets don’t steal.”
Dizzy hummed apologetically.
“I should think so. Don’t you remember what happened last time you helped yourself to something that wasn’t yours?” Dizzy had found Mickey’s open can of Red Bull, drunk it all, and spent the rest of the day zooming at high sped around the Hub, almost wearing away the thick fur from its underside. “I thought you’d have learned your lesson.”
“hum.” It was a very small, meek sound. Dizzy remembered that incident very well. When the caffeine rush had eventually worn off, it had taken the Flufflet several days to recover, slithering slowly and stiffly around the Hub and looking very sorry for itself.
“If you want something you either have to ask or wait for it to be offered.”
Huffing a sigh, Dizzy slithered away, returning with a small basket full of wooden blocks, which it laid out on the floor by Owen’s desk.
‘CHOKLIT PLEES’.
Owen laughed. “Your spelling needs some work, but you get points for effort. Here, one piece of chocolate, but that’s it. Can’t have you getting fat!”
