Disclaimer: I don’t own Torchwood, or the characters.
A/N: Double drabble.
“You know,” Ianto said conversationally as he continued with his meticulous cross-referencing of the latest batch of mission reports. “With all those tentacles, I would have thought you’d be able to make quick progress on your backlog of paperwork.”
“How?” Jack waved all of his tentacles. “What difference do these make when I’ve still only got one pair of eyes? It’s not like I can read several things at once.”
“But you could put one file in your outbox while taking the next one out of your inbox without having to put your pen down, and you’d still have hands, or the tentacle equivalent, free to hold your coffee mug and a biscuit.”
“And then you’d get mad at me if I accidentally moved the wrong tentacle and spilled coffee on the paperwork or stuck my pen in my ear.”
Ianto paused. “Why would you do that?”
“I don’t know, maybe I’d be trying to scratch an itch and mistakenly use the tentacle holding my pen!”
“If you have that little control over your appendages, I’m definitely not letting them near my body.”
Jack made a rude gesture with several tentacles at once.
“I saw that.”
“You were supposed to.”
