Owen Thurman is gorgeous, deep, sensitive, solitary, mysterious… He’s the boy half the girls in school want to go out with. The rest of them would want to if they weren’t already seeing someone else.
When he asks Buffy out, she’s over the moon, or maybe somewhere higher than that. She has a date, with Owen, who didn’t even give Cordelia a second glance! Saying yes is one of the easiest decisions she’s ever had to make.
But then, inevitably, the whole I Am the Slayer thing gets in the way, she doesn’t get to go, her whole evening sucks, and next day… Owen is so sweet about her no-show, she gets a second chance, and it’s worse than the first one.
Dancing at the Bronze leads to a trip to the Sunnydale Funeral Home, vampires, Owen nearly getting killed and suddenly not wanting to be around her, which she totally gets and wishes she didn’t… There goes her love life. Why does she have such bad luck with boys? Oh yeah. Slayer.
As for Owen, turns out he liked the whole mortal danger part of their date, wants to see her again.
Saying no is the toughest decision ever.
