Drabble: Watching The Storm

Title: Watching The Storm

Author: badly_knitted

Characters: Ianto, Jack

Rating: G

Spoilers: Nada.

Summary: Ianto and Jack watch a storm.

Disclaimer: I don’t own Torchwood, or the characters.

A/N: For the prompt ‘Forked Lightning’, one of the prompts I didn’t get around to using for tw100’s challenge 288 last year. I’ve dug them out again to supplement the prompts I got from my f-list, just because there are still loads I wanted to use.

From the shelter of the tourist office, Ianto stared out through pouring rain, watching a storm over the bay. Thunder boomed, forked lightning flashed and he relished the raw splendour of the scene playing out overhead. The howling wind drove waves before it and his heart beat faster at the sight. He’d always loved storms, even knowing the damage they could cause.

Strong arms wrapped around him from behind and a chin rested on his shoulder.

“Beautiful, isn’t it?”

“Storms always make me feel more alive,” murmured Ianto, leaning back against Jack’s chest.

“You make me feel alive,” Jack whispered.

The End

Oh, that was...Jack! *hugs*

I think in so many ways this is better than saying "I love you."
Thank you! Jack told me that was what he wanted to tell Ianto =)
Aww :-)
I love storms. You painted the scene so well in just a hundred words I could really see it.
And Jack, just awww :-) *hugs*
Thank you!

The weather today dictated my choice of drabble - the sky was black, rain was pouring down, it looked like we'd have a storm, but it didn't happen. Pity, I love storms too.

Jack is romantic and sentimental when he wants to be, he's so sweet at times.
I like rain and thunderstorms, too! (But only when I don't need to go outside, lol!)
Weather like that is so much more romantic than sunshine :)
Sunshine can be romantic in the right setting.

Storms are great to watch from indoors, and preferably in summer. In winter when everything is cold and grey and damp they make me want to stay in bed all day, but in summer when it's all green and leafy outside they feel exciting, vibrant and full of the energy of life.
Awwww Ianto is Jack's storm! he is really smitten!
I love storms too!
Ianto is Jack's everything =)

Thank you! So do I!
I love storms, great drabble.
Me too!

Thank you!
Lovely 'painting' .... :D
*grins* Thank you!

I like sketching scenes with words, especially as can't do it with paints. I'm terrible at art.
Me too. Can't get the perspectives right nor sketch what I 'see'. Beading works better for me :D
I can cross stitch, that's about as close to art as I get. Well, that and my picture knits. One day I'll post photos of them. I use a technique called Swiss Darning to apply the picture to the sweater after it's knitted but before the pieces are sewn together.
Yeah, you gotta post those pictures...I've never heard of Swiss Darning! I had a package of Blackwork pillow work that I just gave to a guy friend who does cross stitch-and he does some beautiful work for someone who's only been doing it for less than 2 years! Me, I can tailor a garment in fabric or leather; bead both eurostyle and Native; make hats; tat, etc but never figured out cross stitch or do counted cross stitch. I don't need a pattern for everything but for those, I do. But you DO paint with words beautifully! :D I've got to get that website of my beadwork up and running sometime soon...
You really must, I'd love to see!

I'll post the pics when I can find time, I already have the photos on my computer.
I know exactly what Ianto means. All that storm energy is very invigorating! I can only imagine how impressive one right over the Bay would be.

Jack's so sweet, in his own way. <3<3
I love storms, watching one over the sea would be awesome - as long as I was safe and dry indoors of course, lol!

Jack can be sweet when he's not trying to be flippant and casual.

Thank you!
Aww... lovely! <3
Thank you! Jack's allowed to get a little mushy now and again, lol!
I love it
Thank you! I love giving them little romantic moments =)
