Drabble: Expert Opinion

Title: Expert Opinion

Author: badly_knitted

Characters: Owen, mentions the team.

Rating: G

Written For: Challenge 317 – Mammoth at tw100

Spoilers: Nada.

Summary: Owen is called in by the police to investigate some mysterious remains.

Disclaimer: I don’t own Torchwood, or the characters.

Cardiff's police had got into the habit of calling Torchwood in for anything out of the ordinary; the mysterious organisation were experts when it came to weirdness. So, when strange bones were discovered while digging foundations for a new office block, their medical expert was asked for his opinion.

Dr Harper studied the bones carefully.

“Well, they’re not human.”

The police constable rolled his eyes.

“We guessed that much.”

Harper smirked.

“Judging by size and shape, I’d say early elephant. Maybe even Mammoth. Better call the Natural History Museum. They love old bones. Not our jurisdiction. Have a nice day.”

Thank you!
That was very funny!!!
Loved it!!!
Hug!!!
Thanks, Ani! *hugs*

Owen can't help the way he is!
I love Owen's "Have a nice day." I bet those words were as sarcastic as all get-out.
Well naturally - Owen just can't help himself, lol!

Thank you!
It must be kind of nice when they can say,"Not our jurisdiction." and not have to deal with it.
I'll bet! But Owen's probably grumbling about getting called out in the first place, you know what he's like!

Thank you!
lol definitely not their Jurisdiction.

great drabble
Nope! It's long dead, not their problem, lol!

Thank you!
Hehe. At least this time, although unexpected, it is perfectly natural and therefore not Torchwood's problem. Must be nice for a change!

(Although I don't know if there were mammoths in Britain? I have no idea how far they spread? It could turn out to be a case for Torchwood after all? Ianto would know...)
Sometimes, even the weird isn't weird enough to be Torchwood's jurisdiction.

I'm not 100% certain, but I think there were, I have a vague memory of reading something to do with mammoths, their bones being brought up from the bottom of the sea off the coast, because when mammoths roamed, that was land and not sea.

Yep, there were mammoths at least in Southern England. I reckion Cardiff is far enough south that it's not out of the question, lol!

Thank you.
Oh no, please tell me it wasn't the mammoth mother who died there waiting for her baby to come back! D:
No, you're okay - tests proved it to be a big bull mammoth who died of old age - possibly babby mammoth at the end of his very long life!

Thank you!
