Drabble: Road Closed

Title: Road Closed

Author: badly_knitted

Characters: Ianto, Owen

Rating: G

Spoilers: Nada.

Summary: Some of Cardiff’s motorists have run into a spot of bother.

Disclaimer: I don’t own Torchwood, or the characters.

A/N: For the prompt ‘Variations on a Theme of Road Rage’, one of the prompts I didn’t get around to using for tw100’s challenge 288 last year. I’ve dug them out again to supplement the prompts I got from my f-list, just because there are still loads I wanted to use.

The alien was nine feet tall, covered in shaggy brown fur. Ianto thought it resembled the descriptions of the legendary Bigfoot, except that its face was like a bulldog’s.

It was also in a foul mood.

Appearing out of nowhere in the middle of a major road during rush hour, the creature had immediately brought traffic to a standstill. People had fled in panic, leaving their vehicles behind to be systematically pulverised by huge, hairy fists.

“That takes Road Rage to a whole new level,” commented Owen.

Ianto had to agree. There were going to be some interesting insurance claims.

The End

Prabably be a field day for Big Foot inthusiasts LOL

great drabble
As long as they don't get too close to it!

Thank you!
Oh dear! That creature is going to be difficult to corral. I wonder what cover story the team is going to invent to explain all that damage? Localized earthquake? Meteors falling from the sky?

Maybe all the Bigfoot and Yeti sightings are really alien creatures! That's why they are so elusive--either they pop back into the Rifts from which they came, or the local equivalent of Torchwood sweeps in and does the clean up. :-p

Edited because I typed "Bigfood"--can you tell I had a bit of a lie in today and haven't had breakfast yet? :-p

I've found myself typing equally odd things, lol!

It's always possible that they're aliens. They just pop through to earth for some peace and quiet, then head home when people start trying to catch them!

I really have no idea at this point, though I might try to figure it out eventually. I think they'd have to shoot it with tranquilizer darts to catch it, then hopefully shove it back through the Rift or something.

Thank you!
I've always imagined that Cardiff has some sort of Rift insurance, only they call it Torchwood insurance...and you can only make claims if Torchwood shows up on the scene.

Oh crap, I so need to write that! *smacks bunnies down*
Yes, yes, write it! *pets bunnies* You can use this incident if you want!

I bet you're right. They have to get the signature of at least one Torchwood agent in order to claim.

Thank you!
Oh dear. That's a tough day at the office for our team!
Some days are just worse than others, lol!

Thank you!
Could you imagine? That's not exactly going to be covered up easily, is it? Retcon in the water supply? Long nights combing youtube and twitter etc. for photos. Yuck. Poor Ianto

(btw, re insurance: Admiral and its relatives are based in Cardiff. Much as I hate them, they're probably the people to talk to about Acts of Torchwood)
Lol! Cardiff based insurance company goes bankrupt after mysterious rash of Road Rage incidents...

Thank you!
:D Fantastic
*bows*
As traumatic as this would be if it really happened, this is really kind of hilarious. As to the insurance claims needing to have at least one Torchwood signature, poor Ianto, cuz you know he'd be the one stuck with all the extra paperwork. Of course, Ianto would know about it before all of the others and have made it mandatory that the duty be divided up amongst the team.
Ianto is very good at delegating - he'd divide the forms up fairly, everyone would have to sign there share because otherwise he would be too busy to make coffee.

Thank you!
Thought that was Chewbacca for a minute! *gigglesnort*
I think Chewie would be better behaved, lol!

Thank you!
and without forgetting that Ianto is pragmatic !!
Indeed.

Thank you!
