Drabble: Fairytale Wedding

Title: Fairytale Wedding

Author: badly_knitted

Characters: Jack, Tosh, Owen, Ianto

Rating: G

Spoilers: Nada.

Summary: It’s Tosh’s wedding day and Jack is giving the bride away.

Disclaimer: I don’t own Torchwood, or the characters.

A/N: For one of the prompts I didn’t get around to using for tw100’s challenge 288 last year. I’ve dug them out again to supplement the prompts I got from my f-list, just because there are still loads I wanted to use. Prompt at the end.

Toshiko was a vision of loveliness in her wedding gown; she’d never looked more radiant. Jack hoped Owen appreciated how lucky he was. He offered his arm to the bride as the Wedding March began and they made their entrance.

It was magical, every head turned to watch as the beautiful bride seemed almost to float down the aisle towards her husband to be and Jack caught his own husband’s eye, where Ianto stood as Best Man beside Owen.

As they reached the altar, Jack wiped away a tear. Somehow he’d never quite learned how not to cry at weddings.

The End

A/N: Prompt was ‘How Not to Cry at Weddings’

I wish we could have seen it in the real show. *wipe a tear myself and shrug* :D I'm happy.
Well, this is the next best thing!

Glad you liked it!

Thank you!
Aww so very touching, would have loved to see this in the actual show.
Me too!

Thank you!
Now THIS would have been a good ending for Torchwood instead of the way they trashed everyone and killed the series. You "paint" a really good picture here; but why do I see her in a traditional wedding kimono? Either way with Jack giving her away, Tosh's beauty would make anyone drop a tear. A lovely, lovely drabble :D
It would have made a much better ending. Tosh really would be a radiant bride.

I like to think of her having two weddings - one in Cardiff for the team and other friends, then a more traditional Japanese one over in Japan for her family, because Owen in traditional Japanese wedding clothes would just be... *grins*
Unless I misunderstand how you do this, I'd say you just gave you another 'prompt' - Tradition(al).

I saw 2 Japanese kimonos up on auction several years ago; chrysanthemum pattern in white silk. Exquisite but somebody at the auction house had no idea of the value of those garments. They were selling them for $300 apiece. I'm getting a strong 'picture' of the two of them doing exactly what you proposed above! And you know Ianto would find them! :D :D
It may be so, but my head hurts too much to even consider trying to write it!

I'll have to research Japanese wedding clothing for men as well as women.

That's criminal! Someone should have set them straight!
Thank you! It was a beautiful wedding.
Aww, lovely :-)
Thank you! It was Tosh's dream wedding!
Thank you! She deserves it!
