Drabble: Tropical Vacation

Title: Tropical Vacation

Author: badly_knitted

Characters: Ianto, Jack

Rating: G

Spoilers: Nada.

Summary: Jack and Ianto escape to the sun.

Disclaimer: I don’t own Torchwood, or the characters.

A/N: For mahmfic’s prompt ‘Christmas in a tropical location.’ Okay, so I have the tropical location, but without Christmas. *shrugs* Close enough!

Summer in Cardiff had been abysmal, cold and rainy with barely a glimmer of sunshine. Ianto had been starting to feel as dull and grey as the weather when Jack had surprised him with plane tickets and a brochure showing an idyllic beachside cabana in the Caribbean. He’d needed no persuasion to pack.

Less than forty-eight hours later, here they were in a tropical island paradise, well basted with sunscreen, stretched out side by side in beach chairs, sipping cold fruit juice and listening to the shushing sound of waves against the white sands.

Life didn’t get better than this!

The End

A/N: Wonder if he'd trade places with me....

I'm sorry my friend but I don't think he would 😊
No, I didn't really think he would. *sigh* Guess I'll just have to put up with the snow here and daydream of someplace warm.

Thank you!
Or you can jump on a plane and come to visit me here in BA. We are having temperature of 32C and I have a very big pool 😊
If I was able to travel, I'd be there! It's cold here, I.m having to wear gloves to type!
Jack, this is Cruel...! Makes me think of Panama again!!

Although I'd rather be in Tahiti or Hawaii... :D
I'm not sure exactly where they are, just that it's a perfect tropical paradise. Maybe it IS Tahiti, I hear it's nice there.

Meanwhile, there's snow here and I'm frozen!

Thank you!
I'm being bad here... no snow yet! Watching Who Christmas Marathon here :D Be careful if you go out walking. I've already done my buttskiing this year in just the wet weather.
I don't go out much at the best of times, and not at all in snow these days. Because of my health problems, I'm at risk of osteoporosis, which means if I slip on ice I stand a good chance of breaking something. I can't afford to do that. I'm just staying indoors as much as possible, only stepping outside to get the coal in for the fire, the coal house is under a canopy so there's no snow there.
Lucky boys this sounds idyllic.
Doesn't it? I'd rather be there than here in the cold and snow.

Thank you!
awww! so sweet!
Thank you!

I felt the need for a bit of sunshine, what with all the snow we've got here. The boys agreed it would be good. If I can't go to a tropical paradise, at least I can send them!
I'd trade you the 48oC thermal sensation for the snow anytime. God, sometimes I only want a little cold for a change. I can just hope that the boys are enjoying their (hopefully) alien-free vacation
I don't like that kind of heat, but I hate the cold too. I sit indoors with fingerless gloves on so I can type, and I can't go out in the snow because I could fall and break something. Can't risk it.

The island is guaranteed 100% alien-free, they can just relax and enjoy themselves.

Thank you!
Life doesn't get better than imagining those two in swim trunks! ;D
Well, it might be even nicer if you could be right there on that beach with them...

Thank you!
Mmmm that sounds perfect....
I hope they enjoyed having some time to relax together :-)
I'm sure they did, but I wish I could have joined them!

Thank you!
