Drabble: Transmuted

Title: Transmuted

Author: badly_knitted

Characters: Jack, Owen

Rating: PG

Written For: Challenge 329 – Chiffon at tw100

Spoilers: Nada.

Summary: Owen undergoes a change…

Disclaimer: I don’t own Torchwood, or the characters

A/N: This is what happens when I read Fullmental Alchemist while trying to come up with a drabble idea for the new prompt…

It’s a transmuter!” Jack exclaimed, studying the object. “Fantastic!”

“What’s a transmuter?” Owen wanted to know.

“It changes one substance into another.”

“What, like turning lead into gold?”

“Nothing that dramatic,” Jack replied. “No, this transforms fabrics, so you could change your clothes from cotton into silk for a night out, you just select colour and fabric. The effect is temporary, lasts a few hours.”

Owen picked it up, pressing buttons at random. Before Jack could stop him, there was a flash, and Owen was dressed head to foot in neon pink chiffon. He looked down at himself.

“Oh shit!”

The End

"Fullmental Alchemist"? Oooookkkaayyy... but I wanna borrow that machine!!! :D
Yeah, it would be cool - instant party dress or whatever!

(I'm getting hooked on more manga. FM is really fun!)

Thank you!
Hahahaa oh that would be a sight to see.

great drabble
He looked lovely, pink is his colour ;)

Thank you!
LOL Ah, just never change, Owen! Of COURSE you need to fiddle around with the alien device, especially when Jack deems it non-lethal XD

PS: I have to really thank you for pointing me to daily_prompts and setting such a great example on the power and possibilities of drabbles! I can't claim to write one daily, but my FF output has very much increased, and I dare to try out new fandoms I would not have touched before with a ten-foot-pole *happy* Thanks! :)
Owen will be Owen, lol! He looks so pretty in pink!

Thank you!

You're welcome, I'm glad you're finding inspiration! Never underestimate the power of a drabble. I know they've changed my writing forever, getting me to explore things I never would have dreamed of before. Glad they seem to be doing the same for you! I thought I would never write in any other fandom, but I've now written in 8, even though three were only a single drabble. Hope you continue to enjoy!
I very much do! :) Granted, over the WE I didn't manage to write anything - except for new ideas on notepad pages XD - because my father was at home. Two days in a row *urgh* (He usually has to work on Saturdays and gets a random day under the week off as compensation). But now I'm already back to working on my latest piece. Honestly, at the moment I only need to watch something and I get ideas. Granted, I don't stick to the 100 words limits for my drabbles, but being able to focus on a single scene, instead of dealing with my usual epic (never to be finished *cough*) ideas is pretty much a relief and gets the writing juices flowing :)
I like writing the short pieces, little scenes and moments can have as much impact as the much longer and more involved storylines but don't require long-term commitment. As long as you're not writing for a drabble community there's no reason to limit yourself to 100 words, just let what you write find its own length, whatever it is will be right for the story you're telling. Epic ideas are so daunting to write, I admire the people who seem to have no trouble writing them, but they're hard!
Hah, bet that made quite a sight! ;D
Owen looked oh so pretty. Jack couldn't stop laughing!

Thank you!

Owen looking like a poor man's drag queen is an image that i can't get out of my head....

All the times Owen has complained about Jack's antics scarring him for life, now he's inflicting the same horror on others!
And then somebody took a picture *lol* XD
They had to stop laughing first, lol!

Thank you!
Hehe, I'd love to see Owen's face!
He was horrified.

Thank you.
