Drabble: Sacrifice

Title: Sacrifice
Author: badly_knitted
Characters: Ianto, Jack.
Rating: PG
Written For: Challenge 334 – Red at tw100
Spoilers: Nada.
Summary: Jack’s dead again.
Disclaimer: I don’t own Torchwood, or the characters.

Jack was still and cold to the touch, his face too pale while his clothes were dark red with blood. Ianto didn’t need to check for a pulse to know for sure that his lover had once again died in the line of duty.

It broke his heart whenever Jack died, and angered him when death could’ve been avoided, but that hadn’t been the case this time. Jack had sacrificed his life protecting a child, and Ianto knew he would’ve done the same, even knowing that unlike Jack, he wouldn’t come back from death.

Some things were worth dying for.

The End

Poor boys. *sniff*
Yeah. Thy do what has to be done.

Thank you.

Poor Ianto. No matter how convinced you think he might be that he'll always come back, there's always that tiny fear that perhaps he won't.

It must be scary every time.

Thank you.
Jack is a brave man and Ianto even braver for standing by him through it all.

Great drabble
Thank you.

Yes, they're both very brave.
Poor Ianto, having to go through that again and again, the death of his partner. Just because Jack actually CAN come back doesn't make it easier, after all. Still, I agree with him - it's one of the greater aspects of mankind, that we are capable to sacrifice ourselves for the sake of another, especially children.

PS: I know I comment less, but I just wanted you to know that I loved all your drabbles from the last month very much :)
Glad you're still enjoying them, comments are nice but not required, I know you're often busy.

Yes, Ianto suffers when Jack dies, but at least this time it wasn't a pointless death.

Thank you.
*Hugs them both*
That must have been tough for Ianto, but as you say sometimes it is worth it.
Often Jack's deaths can be avoided, but there are times when they can't.
Jack does whatever is needed, even if he has to sacrifice himself.

Thank you.
Whoa, some eerie foreshadowing here.
Yeah, sorry about that.

Thank you!
