Drabble: And Yet...

Title: And Yet…

Author: badly_knitted

Characters: Ianto, mentions the team and Lisa

Rating: G

Written For: Challenge 257 - Between the Devil and the deep blue sea at tw100

Spoilers: For Cyberwoman

Summary: Ianto’s having conflicting feelings

Disclaimer: I don’t own Torchwood, or the characters.

Torchwood Three wasn’t like One, it lacked the emotionless, unfeeling bureaucracy and red tape, the air of superiority.

These were real people, good people; not perfect but doing the best they could for the greater good. The people who’d dared stand up to Hartman, the thorn in her side.

Toshiko, Owen, Suzie… and Jack. He was using them, betraying them, and it was killing him inside, a little more each day.

They didn’t deserve to be used this way, but what else could he do? He had to put Lisa’s needs first. She should be all that mattered, and yet…

The End

And yeti there is Jack. He makes things complicated.

Yah for another cyberwoman Drabble. Was such a trying time for all.
Thanks!

This one just kept nagging away at me, I needed to write it.

Yeah, Ianto is torn. He knows what he should feel, but Jack is an unanticipated complication and Ianto's feeling things that it's just not convenient for him to feel. His straightforward plan is getting a bit derailed.
Poor Ianto...so very conflicted.
Yes, he had everything planned out, he just didn't take into account the fact that he might come to like (or at least respect) the people he's deceiving. But he still has to carry his plan through to the end, it's just far harder to do than he'd expected.

Thank you.
Nicely done.
Poor Ianto, he knew it was never going to be easy, but he never expected that he would like or even love the members of Torchwood 3. It would have been so much easier for him if they had all been like Yvone Hartman
Yeah, if T3 had been like T1, he could have used and betrayed them without a twinge of conscience, because it was T1s attitude that cost almost 800 people their lives. But T3 are so different, and that makes it so much harder to do what he has to. There is definitely going to be guilt and shame over what he's doing.

Thank you.
and yet he felt badly because he is a good person and he knows, deep down inside, that he was not doing the correct thing!

liked it a lot, J!!!
Thank you! *hugs*

Poor Ianto. He's torn. He wants to save Lisa, but he's attracted to Jack, and he likes Tosh and he really doesn't want to hurt anyone, but he planned everything for Lisa. Everything is going round and round in his head and making him feel worse every day.
Moving from a big, corrupt bureaucracy to such an intense, intimate workplace is a culture shock on its own--and now he is working in close quarters every day with the people he's betraying. So difficult. :(

Great job!
Yes, he wasn't expecting to feel what he's feeling, and getting to know his team mates just makes him feel even worse. He just wants to do what is best for Lisa, but he can't ignore his conscience.

Thank you.
Brilliant and in to few words too.
Thank you! =)

Well, that's drabbles for you - 100 words exactly is not a lot, but I'm learning how to make the best use of them that I can, lol!
Poor Ianto and his internal struggles :-( You captured him well here, thanks for sharing!!
Thank you, I'm glad you think so!

It was such a difficult time for him, caring for Lisa as well as keeping up with the demands of Torchwood, but he's a good person in a desperate situation, so I can't believe that using and betraying the team wouldn't bother him.
That's my Ianto. Always thinking a thing through to confusion. He's between a rock and a hard place. he's no where to go. Just like Tosh. Just like them all from time to time. And yet...
Thank you!

Ianto's mind is in a whirl, though it doesn't show on his face. He's committed to doing whatever he has to in order to save Lisa, but it's a lot harder than he expected, knowing he's betraying good people.
Wonderful!!!!!
Thank you! =D
