Drabble: The Right Spot

Title: The Right Spot

Author: badly_knitted

Characters: Jack, Ianto.

Rating: G

Spoilers: Nada.

Summary: Arranging furniture is a precise science.

Word Count: 100

Written For: My own prompt ‘Any, any, A meeting of minds,’ at [community profile] fic_promptly.

Disclaimer: I don’t own Torchwood, or the characters. They belong to the BBC.

A/N: Okay, this is a bit of a weird one. The challenge was to write a fill without using any linking verbs. I succeeded, but it’s rather choppy.

A new flat, a new home, and all new furniture; logistical nightmare.

Jack manoeuvred their new armchair carefully.

“Not there,” Ianto objected, frowning.

“Why?” Jack asked, bemused.

“Not enough sunlight there,” Ianto insisted.

Jack shifted the chair.

“Here then?” he queried.

“No way, much too cluttered.”

“Fussy pants! No pleasing you,” Jack muttered grumpily, back and arms aching.

He tried another spot.

“No good.”

“What now?” Frustrated and tired.

“Much too dark.”

Jack sighed heavily. Another move, muscles straining painfully.

“Any objections?”

Ianto smiled, shaking his head. “Just perfect!”

Jack eyed the chair thoughtfully. Clever Ianto. Amazingly, Jack agreed completely.

The End

Ianto knows wheres best.
Jack needs to trust Ianto's instincts!

Thank you!
It is quite choppy but as a writing exercise it must have been very difficult :)
I'll be honest, it was a complete nightmare, lol! I looked at the challenge and panicked, immediately thinking I can't do that! I've never failed a challenge before though, so I just found one of my own drabble prompts and gave it my best shot. Never has a drabble taken longer to write, about three hours in the end o_O

Thank you!
Ianto is the chief.
Always! Jack knows to listen to him.

Thank you.
