Bad Jack

Drabble: Plum Unlucky

Title: Plum Unlucky
Author: badly_knitted
Characters: Ianto, Jack.
Rating: G
Written For: Challenge 423: Thumb at tw100.
Spoilers: Nada.
Summary: As far as Ianto’s concerned, Little Jack Horner has a lot to answer for.
Disclaimer: I don’t own Torchwood, or the characters.

Ianto had been busy in the kitchen, baking for Christmas, when a call came through from Tosh. She needed something from the archives but couldn’t find it. Taking off his apron, he hurried over to the Hub.

When he got back an hour later, he headed straight for the kitchen, hoping certain delicacies would be cool enough for freezing, but stopped dead at the sight before him. His pristine plum pie was full of holes.

“Jack! What on earth are you doing?”

Jack held up his thumb. “Doesn’t work. I kept sticking it in, but I didn’t get a plum.”

The End

*giggles* Ianto could always put him in the corner...but I doubt he'd be willing to go alone. ^.^
Oh no, corners are definitely for couples, because there are convenient walls to help them stay upright ;)

Thank you!

Very welcome!
I'm channelling both Jack and Dee, sorry ;)
*giggles* Quite alright. At least you're channeling the nicer ones, lol; I tend to channel the more evil ones. ;D
I seem to channel the horny ones for some reason, and really, I'm not like them at all! o_O

Then again, you're not evil, so I guess we channel the ones that are least like us.
Haha, I sure hope I'm not evil! o.O I sometimes wonder what the hell it says about me that I write the mean/nasty/hurty ones better than the fluffy ones. Maybe you're right; we must somehow gravitate to the ones we're nothing like--or else they're drawn to us. O.O
Perhaps it IS that way around!

Happy people seem to write the angstiest fics and angsty people the happiest. Maybe it's how we balance out our personalities and keep ourselves on an even keel.
Oh dear Ianro has some explaining to do to Jack about nursery rhymes.

Great drabble.
Jack will always give anything a try, lol!

Thank you!

*headdesk* ;)

*giggles* Silly idea is silly, but I couldn't resist.

Thank you!
When he thinks about it, Jack realises he has already pulled a plum - Ianto, who will no doubt bake another pie. He realises Jack doesn't have the cultural background to interpret the rhyme properly.
And Jack gets to eat all the first pie himself because nobody else wants it now Jack's thumb has been in it, lol!

Thank you!
Confused foreigner is confused...
Sorry, I meant to include the nursery rhyme or a link, but I forgot. It's one of those things I learned as a kid and never forgot, so when I saw the thumb prompt, and this being Jack, albeit not the one in the rhyme, I had to run with the idea.

Here's the Rhyme (nonsense of course, as most nursery rhymes are).

Little Jack Horner
Sat in the corner,
Eating a Christmas pie;
He put in his thumb,
And pulled out a plum,
And said 'What a good boy am I!

Hope that helps.
Ooooh, now it makes sense. From the perspective of someone who doesn't have English as native language, Jack's action makes sense. Well, if you actually believe nursery rhymes... tsk tsk
Well, we all know Jack's never grown up ;)

You speak English (or type it anyway) so well, I forget you're not actually English *headdesk*
