Drabble: Jack Of Some Trades

Title: Jack Of Some Trades
Author: badly_knitted
Characters: Jack, Ianto.
Rating: G
Written For: Challenge 423: Thumb at tw100.
Spoilers: Nada.
Summary: Jack’s not skilled in everything…
Disclaimer: I don’t own Torchwood, or the characters.

Ianto, it seemed, was a bit of a Jack-of-all-Trades, able to turn his hand to most things. Jack, unfortunately, wasn’t. He could fly pretty much anything, knew an incredible amount about aliens, was a walking talking sex manual, and a pretty good cook too, but certain things he had no talent for whatsoever. Not that his ineptitude kept him from trying.

“How can I learn without doing things?”

It was a fair question.

“OWOWOW! I think I broke my thumb!”

Ianto looked heavenwards, praying for patience. That was the ninth time Jack had hit the wrong thing with the hammer.

The End

Comments

That hammer needs to be a bit more sonic.
LOL! That would save Jack a lot of pain as well as effort!

Thank you!
LOL I think Jack should leave the handy man stuff to Ianto.

great drabble.
Poor Jack, he just wants to help! ;)

Thank you!
Jack has to learn there are some things Ianto will always do better than he can. At the end, Ianto will kiss the owie better, which Jack thinks is worth the pain.
I'm sure you're right. Poor Jack, he does try, but no one (except perhaps Ianto) can be good at everything.

Thank you!

Jack should have taken some safety precautions. Or is he just use to pain?
It's hard to take safety precautions when holding a nail in place with one hand and trying to hit it with the hammer in the other hand. I know, I've hit myself by mistake more times than I care to remember!

Thank you!

There is suppose to be an alternative to holding the nail without putting your hand in the way. But I'm no handy person.
There are some plastic devices that are supposed to work, but it takes a steady hand and they can be a bit fiddly.
hahahahahahaah I am like Jack with computers and mu hubby suffers while I am at that, once and again!!!
We can't all be good at everything!

Thank you!
