Drabble: The Disappearance Of Agatha

Title: The Disappearance Of Agatha

Author: badly_knitted

Characters: Jack, Agatha Christie

Rating: G

Written For: Challenge 278 – Women’s History at tw100

Spoilers: Nope.

Summary: Agatha Christie disappeared on Friday, December 3rd, 1926, and reappeared 11 days later. This is probably not what happened.

Disclaimer: I don’t own Torchwood, or the characters.

A/N: Thanks to my amazing f-list who came to my rescue when I couldn’t come up with a single idea for this prompt. This and its companion piece are courtesy of tardisjournal, who suggested that Jack, in all his time travelling, must have met a few historical women - so here’s one!

Agatha Christie met Jack Harkness only briefly. Stumbling from her car, still shaking from nearly hitting something, she was grabbed, there was a flash of brilliant light, and she was in the arms of a very handsome man.

He’d apparently been expecting her.

“Sorry about that. Let me buy you a drink.”

She never remembered her encounter, or knew what happened. One minute she was driving along a quiet lane in Surrey, the next she was checked into a Harrogate hotel under a false name, with no idea how she got there.

Only a handful of people knew the truth.

Excellent!!!
Thankyou! I have safely avoided skipping a prompt!
Interesting. Jack and retcon. Bad boy what did he do to her. Does this follow the DW episode?
No, it's nothing to do with the Doctor Who episode, just my Torchwood universe take on what might have happened. Surprisingly, Jack is a good boy in this case, strictly professional.

Thank you.
great! I'd love to know what happened!
Read the next entry, lol! I needed a second drabble to tell the other side of the story!

Thank you =)
Ooo, very intriguing! Now you've got me Googling to read more about the "official" accounts of this event, which I hadn't been aware of. It reads like something out of one of her novels.

On to read Jack's account of events now. :)
Thanks, glad you liked it!

I knew a little about the disappearance, just had to check dates and places and figure out how Jack could have been involved.
:-) Great use of the prompt.
Thank you! Considering I couldn't come up with any ideas, I'm quite pleased!
This would make a great long fic! I love the whole mystery surrounding the mystery writer bit... wow!
Thank you, glad you liked it!
HMM Interesting take on Her dissapearance.
Thank you, it seemed like something that could have had a Torchwood Universe explanation!
for an Agatha Christie freaky fangirl like me, this is better than the best thing.
Thank you! I'm glad it meets with your approval!
