Drabble: Mending Stuart’s Leg

Title: Mending Stuart’s Leg

Author: badly_knitted

Characters: Jack, Ianto

Rating: G

Written For: Challenge 288 – Reverse fandom – Last of the Summer Wine at tw100

Spoilers: Nada.

Summary: Jack can’t keep his hands to himself; Ianto deals with the consequences.

Disclaimer: I don’t own Torchwood, or the characters.

A/N: Episode title = drabble title. It’s just easier that way.

“It’s not my fault!” Jack whined. “I just touched it and it came right off in my hand!”

“What were you doing touching it in the first place?” Ianto sounded exasperated. “You know Stuart’s off limits, on Owen’s orders. He’s very old and fragile. I told Owen he should be kept at home, but apparently he was putting girls off when he was in Owen’s bedroom. One even complained Stuart was leering at her.” Ianto considered Stuart for a moment. “She has a point.”

“What do I do? Owen will kill me!”

“Give me the leg, I’ll mend the skeleton.”

The End

Comments

LOL i can definitely see that putting girls off. Oh but Jack will be in trouble if Owen finds out. Hope Ianto can fix him.
Ianto can fix anything, even Stuart's leg!

In my head, Stuart was left to Owen in his mentor's will and he is rather fond of him, but Stuart's an old skeleton and bits have a habit of falling off easily, so everyone has been warned to look but not touch. Jack, of course, HAS to touch, lol!

Thank you.
awesome! and you amd eme remember about "Señor Huesos" aka Mr. Bones, our skeleton at high school :)

Of course, Ianto will fix it, he can and knows how to do it!
Of course! Ianto knows everything, after all - he will fix Stuart and save Jack from Owen's wrath. But he wants Jack to take him out for a nice dinner in return, lol! Otherwise he'll tell Owen! (Blackmail has its uses in a relationship!)

Thank you!
Oh dear! Owen's sentimental about a skeleton--I can see this, actually! Ianto to the rescue--once again.

Next time keep your hands to yourself, Jack! :-p
But Jack couldn't help himself! LOL!

Yeah, Owen is very fond of Stuart, it was left to him by his mentor at medical school, a man who was like the father Owen never had.

Thankfully, Ianto knows how to fix everything! He also knows which bones the leg bones are conected to and I'm sure he regaled Jack with a rousing rendition as he worked (and will no doubt whisper it in Jack's ear whenever he wants something from Jack, like a day off or a new coffee machine....)

Thank you.

Lol!
Brilliant use of the prompt :-)
Thank you! As soon as I saw that episode title I had to use it. At first it was going to be Owen breaking something, but then I got the skeleton idea...

I think I like this prompt. Never done a Reverse-fandom challenge before, but it's quite inspiring. There are several more titles I like that could make for interesting drabbles. I have one more written for tomorrow and vague ideas for a few others, so we'll see if I get any more written.
I'm pleased you went with the skeleton-it worked really well.

I dont like this kind of prompt. Not done one before either. There is too much choice for me. Nothing in particular has jumped out at me as the one to use. If there was only one prompt I'd spend all week trying to think how to fill it but I just know I'll spend the week flitting about between different ideas for different prompts getting nowhere and then just rush something at the end.
My plot bunnies aren't being very helpful today either. I thought yesterday that they were back but they have been scared away again today. :-(
I was going to write this evening but might do some baking instead.
You could get someone else to pick you a title, then you'd only have one promt to work from.

I like variety, it sets my bunnies hopping, hence 2 drabbles already and ideas for others. There are some delicious titles to choose from. i sometimes struggle when there's a single prompt because my imagination feels constricted. Different things work for different people, I guess.

Enjoy your baking - and then enjoy eating your baking, lol!
I look forward to your next drabbles :-)

Do you want to pick a prompt for me? (pretty please?)

I like baking. Such a great hobby - I get double enjoyment out of it. Baking and eating :-) (must go to the gym tomorrow though!)

I made low GI hazelnut and nutmeg cupcakes and my hazelnut sultana oat cookies are in the oven now. :-)
Okay, let me look at the prompts - i saved the link for reference.

Hmmmm.... I'm really tempted to offer you 'Serenade For Tight Jeans and Metal Detector', because I love the title, but when I try to think of anything, my brain implodes.

How about something a little less avant garde - Some Enchanted Evening. It sounds pleasingly romantic and would fit any of the characters/couples (though it doesn't HAVE to be romantic if your brain takes you somewhere darker.)

Oooh, your baking sounds tasty! Enjoy now, gym later!
Great!!
Thank you! You just know that if Jack's told not to touch something he won't be able to resist the temptation!
I see that your imagination is still huge.

Owen should put away Stuart from Jack.
Sometimes I think they should put everything away from Jack, lol. He can't keep his hands to himself!.

I was very inspired by all the prompts I could use this month.

Thank you!
Old med school buddy?
I think Owen inherited ancient Stuart from his Med School teacher.

Thank you.
