Doctor Who Drabble: At The Library

Title: At The Library
Author: badly_knitted
Characters: Tenth Doctor, Donna Noble.
Rating: G
Written For: Challenge 197: Green Day at dw100, using At The Library.
Spoilers: Silence in the Library/Forest Of The Dead.
Summary: A simple message brings the Doctor to The Library.
Disclaimer: I don’t own Doctor Who, or the characters.

He gets a message on the psychic paper, no idea who from. It just reads ‘The library, come as soon as you can.’ There’s a kiss at the end. It’s a mystery, and the Doctor never could resist one of those, so instead of the promised beach, he drags Donna to the biggest library the universe has ever known. It takes up the whole planet.

The place appears deserted, and yet a scan reveals millions upon millions of life forms.

That’s not good.

They came here because of a message, but what’s in the shadows might cost them their lives.

The End

Yes! Still one of the best episodes of DW ever.
I loved the introduction of River =)

Thank you!

I wonder if there were any ebooks?
As I recall the episode, every book had been specially printed for the library, using the trees the vashta nerada lived in to make the paper, so I think not.

Thank you.

Okay, the things I forget that make it worthwhile if I want to rewatch.:)
I only know because I was reading the episode transcipt in order to write the drabble, and I still might not have it entirely right, but I do know it was all paper books. I could do with a rewarch myself, but I'm currently doing a Buffy rewatch so Doctor Who will have to wait.

Reinette: What do monsters have nightmares about?
The Doctor: Me! Ha!

Buffy: I’m the thing that monsters have nightmares about.
Lol! Buffy and the Doctor think alike!

I know!.:D

Buffy called herself a thing?
Sometimes she does. Because she's the watcher's council's weapon, a tool to be used and them replaced when she finally breaks.

The watchers council was messed up!

I really hated the "test" they gave her in the episode: Helpless.*shakes fist*
I have plans to write something for that episode at some point. It really was an idiotic 'test'.

The old De-Power trope. The fact that it was done on purpose was what made it idiotic. Not by accident or caused by a baddie. It was just different.

Stupid watchers policies and procedures!

That was a creepy episode.

great drabble
One of the creepiest.

Thank you!
